There are academic and English level requirements for all EQUIP Training courses.
There are also admission requirements in the areas of age and finance.
A recognition of prior learning (RPL) process may be used to determine whether an applicant has the appropriate academic foundation for entry into the course of their choice.
The Administration of EQUIP Training reserves the right to waive these requirements when satisfied that the student has sufficient ability and experience to have a reasonable probability of successfully completing the course of their choice.
English Language Competence
Students from a non-English speaking background must satisfy the minimum level of English language competence by:
1. Obtaining
an International English Language Testing system (IELTS) score of at least 6.5
overall with a minimum of 6.0 in any band in the 24 months prior to the
application
or
2. Having satisfactorily completed at least a two years of post-secondary school studies at an institution in Australia or another country where the language of instruction and assessment is English.
Age
The minimum age is normally 18 years.
Finance
Prospective students must demonstrate their ability to cover course costs.
Alternate entry
There is no provision for mature age entry for the Graduate Diploma as a Bachelor’s degree is a pre-requisite.
Applicants to the Diploma course may be considered for mature age entry if they are over the age of 21 and have sufficient life experience to demonstrate capacity to undertake education at this level.
Course Credit
Credit transfer or recognition of prior learning may be given for previous study in relevant subject areas undertaken at approved institutions.
Supporting Documentation
Documentary evidence of qualifications must be provided. Certified copies of transcripts and IELTS test report forms must accompany applications. Certified documents must be signed by an authorised person – either the issuing body or by a person qualified to accept a statutory declaration. If original documents are in a language other than English they must be accompanied by an English translation.
