Students generally choose between the six-week summer school and the Foundations course based on factors such as:
If you plan on working in a role that requires you to have a good understanding of another language and culture then the six-week course may be a better choice. If your intended role has contact mainly with English speakers then the Foundations course might be good initial preparation.
If you intend to learn a difficult language it would be wise to choose the six-week course. If you wish to learn perhaps a trade language you may find the Foundations course is adequate.
The other factor people consider when choosing a course is how much time and money they wish to invest in this training.
